This particular Kovac-based Harpune II, model P2, serial number #DC012 uses Paulownia woods for its various functional accents & string ribs. The sides of the Body (sound chamber), and Top & Bottom Plates are made entirely from very lightweight Paulownia. Its tone is brighter but balanced across its treble & bass for such a smaller harp.
Thus, this harp is lightweight, at 10.6 pounds, and is & melodic because of the thorough use of Paulownia & Maple tone woods for most of its internal & external sound chamber components. It is normal for this type of soundboard to have a bit of noticeable outward flex near the bass region of its string rib.
Its Paulownia tone wood Sound Board uses Maple & Paulownia inner supports and inner string rib, creating a very responsive transducer for its harp strings to interact with.
The Neck, Pillar (Post), Feet, and structural support Rails use the standard Harpune II laminated & veneered cabinet wood throughout including within the Body.
All other features & engineering closely match that of the Harpune II series harps.
This Harp can be obtained by one of two options after your online purchase of it:
#1: Local Pick-Up
#2: UPS Shipping
Option #1, Local Pick-Up:
This Model P2 harp is available for local pickup at our shop (pre-paid, online).
Option #2, UPS Shipping:
This harp can also be shipped (USA only). However, to ship the harp most economically & safely, it will be knocked down into its three major components.
The Neck, Sound Box & Pillar (and Legs) will be disconnected from each other & shipped together in one shipping container. The strings will be disconnected from the Neck and left secured in the Sound Box's Sound Board.
You will need to reassemble it and reinstall the strings onto each of their own tuners. This is an easy process. Assembly directions will be sent to help quickly & easily facilitate the process.
