Why Paraguayan Folk Harps?
Experience the Brilliant Sound of the Paraguayan Folk Harp. Paraguayan folk harps are celebrated for their shimmering trebles and firm, resonant bass. This specific model (Serial #DC012) offers a pleasing, rich resonance designed for both performance and ease of use.
Engineered with moderate tension and narrower string spacing than traditional Celtic harps, this instrument is remarkably easy to play. Whether you are a beginner, a senior, or a child, you can produce a beautiful tone with significantly less physical strain on your hands and fingers.
Tuning and Playability
Traditional Paraguayan harps use robust guitar-style tuning mechanisms, which make tuning 2–3× faster and help reduce the tuning mistakes that can lead to string breaks on some Celtic-style harps.
The notes for each tuning mechanism are embossed into the top of the neck halves, making it easy to identify the correct string quickly (see photo).
Advance Acoustic Design
- Bottom-Loaded Bass Port: Instead of standard rear sound holes, this harp features a bottom-loaded port. This preserves sub-harmonics and projects the sound directly toward your audience for a more robust, filling bass.
- Integrated Electronics: The harp includes a pre-drilled 5/16" mounting hole with a removable patch, making it easy to install an internal sound pickup jack without modifying the frame.
Maintenance-Friendly Design
Superior Construction & Maintenance Built from Paulownia and Maple with a cabinet-grade multi-ply neck and pillar, this harp is both durable and incredibly lightweight (under 25 lbs).
- The "Floating" Soundboard: The deluxe quarter-sawn Paulownia soundboard is designed to "float," meaning it can be easily removed or replaced. You won’t need an expensive luthier for weeks of repair work in the event of an accident.
- Removable Back Panel: The back panel features an integrated lift handle and can be removed easily for string installation or general maintenance.
Warranty
6 Month warranty (strings and abuse not covered).
